Lewis Hamilton claims Mercedes ignored his suggestions when creating the W14.

According to Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes did not pay attention to the problems he raised regarding their Formula 1 vehicle for 2023. The motorsport resumed on Sunday for a fresh season, and the initial Grand Prix was held in Bahrain.

Hamilton, speaking to BBC, said: “Last year, I told them the issues that are with the car. Like, I’ve driven so many cars in my life, so I know what a car needs, I know what a car doesn’t need.  And I think it’s really about accountability.

Hamilton added: “it’s about owning up and saying, “Yeah, you know what? We didn’t listen to you. it’s not where it needs to be, and we’ve got to work’.

“We’ve got to look into the balance through the corners, look at all the weak points, and just huddle up as a team, that’s what we do.

“We’re still multiple world champions, you know? just haven’t got it right this time. Didn’t get it right last year. But that doesn’t mean we can’t get it right moving forwards.”

Max Verstappen, who holds the current world champion title, won his 36th race, while Sergio Perez finished in second place, creating a one-two victory for Red Bull.

Fernando Alonso also made headlines by securing a third-place podium finish in his debut race for Aston Martin.

Mercedes failed to win any races last season and are aiming to regain their former top spot.
