The Chief Executive Officer and Team Principal of Red Bull Racing made an appearance at the RB20’s unveiling, even as the team investigated accusations concerning his conduct.
Christian Horner has acknowledged that the probe into the claims of misconduct has been “a distraction,” yet he affirms that it hasn’t affected Red Bull’s preparation for the new season.
Red Bull GmbH, the overseeing body of the team, has initiated an inquiry into the Team Principal and CEO following a complaint by a staff member.
A discussion took place recently between Horner, aged 50, and a lawyer specializing in external affairs, as the team aims to settle the issue before the start of the upcoming season.
While the specifics of the allegations remain undisclosed, Horner made his presence known at the RB20‘s debut in Milton Keynes, following his attendance at a preliminary event at Silverstone earlier in the week.
In a conversation with the media, Horner stated: “Inevitably there has been a distraction, but the team are very together.
“Everybody’s focused on the season ahead, so it’s been very much business as normal and the support has been fantastic.
“In situations like these, you see where the strengths are, and it’s been overwhelming the support that I’ve had from within the team. The drivers have been incredibly good, the partners, it’s been incredible.”
He further mentioned: “There have been some allegations made, which I fully deny”, affirming his full cooperation with the current probe.
“So that [the investigation] is very much going on in the background whilst preparing for the season ahead, and hopefully it will be concluded in the near future.”
