Mexico GP advocates for halt to discriminatory remarks

The Mexican GP’s coordinators are urging fans to demonstrate respect in anticipation of Sergio Perez’s home race this month.

Recent races have been marred by negative behaviours such as jeers and insults. Further fueling concerns, the Mexican GP officials expressed discontent over the way Dr Helmut Marko recently commented on Red Bull’s Perez for his ‘South American’ lack of focus.

In a proactive step, the race has introduced an initiative titled ‘Racepect’. Its primary goal? To “eliminate acts of intolerance such as verbal attacks, racist comments and confrontations in the stands”.

“We invite the attendees of the Mexico GP to be an example for fans around the world,” Rodrigo Sanchez, the public relations director, conveyed.

“Let’s build an environment based on tolerance, inclusion, diversity and, above all, respect during races.”
