Massa’s Legal Pursuit Branded ‘Disgraceful’ by Popov

Felipe Massa is poised to “disgrace himself” with his decision to embark on legal action against Formula 1, according to the assessment of well-known Russian F1 commentator Alexey Popov.

This evaluation stems from the revelation that Massa’s legal representatives have formally cautioned both the sport and its regulatory body, FIA, about his intentions to pursue legal measures regarding the outcome of the 2008 world championship.

Massa alleges that Formula 1 was aware of the ‘crashgate’ controversy before the conclusion of the 2008 season, implying that he – rather than Lewis Hamilton – might have been the rightful champion.

Popov’s perspective on the matter is clear: “It seems to me that no one is going to meet him halfway on this one. He’s just going to disgrace himself in the eyes of the fans all these years later.”

“I don’t really understand Felipe on this. I’ve always liked him, but in this situation, I don’t understand what he’s trying to prove. It’s quite clear that undoing everything now is basically impossible,” he added.
