Ex-Formula 1 chief Bernie Ecclestone has made a statement to clear up misunderstandings regarding his supposed role in the challenges faced by Christian Horner, the team principal at Red Bull.
Red Bull GmbH is presently scrutinizing Horner due to accusations linked to his conduct in his managerial capacity. These allegations, reportedly raised by a staff member, have yet to be detailed publicly.
Since the emergence of these claims, there has been rampant speculation, with the only concrete detail being Horner’s discussion last Friday with an independent expert lawyer dispatched by Red Bull GmbH to present his version of events.
A narrative by a German news outlet suggested that Ecclestone, a close acquaintance of Horner and the ex-chairman of F1, had become privy to the situation’s specifics and counseled Horner to either resign or step back from his role at Red Bull.
Ecclestone, who has previously been embroiled in controversies, was recently convicted of fraud for not disclosing over £400 million located in a Singaporean trust.
To address the speculations about his involvement, Ecclestone turned to social media. In a message that was also shared by his spouse, Fabiana, the FIA Vice-President for Sport, Ecclestone refuted claims that he had offered any advice to Horner.
Ecclestone in a post on Instagram wrote: “To clarify reports by newspapers that I had urged or suggested that Christian Horner should step down from his position in Red Bull is entirely UNTRUE,” Ecclestone wrote.“To clarify reports by newspapers that I had urged or suggested that Christian Horner should step down from his position in Red Bull is entirely UNTRUE,” Ecclestone wrote.
Amidst the ongoing probe into Horner’s actions by Red Bull GmbH, the team principal was present at the Red Bull RB20’s test run filming day at Silverstone on Tuesday and is expected to attend the Red Bull unveiling event in Milton Keynes on Thursday.
Geri Horner, spouse of the Red Bull team principal is reportedly finding solace in the companionship of her long-time friend, Victoria Beckham.
An insider revealed to OK! Magazine that Victoria promptly extended her support upon learning about the investigation into Christian Horner’s behaviour.
The insider further noted: “They always got on well and have been there for each other through the difficult times. When Geri was having a bit of a stormy relationship with some of the other Spice Girls, Victoria supported her and helped her through. It’s the same now Victoria wants to support Geri any way she can.”
