Fernando Alonso’s long-term girlfriend, Andrea Schlager, recently revealed that the two-time Formula 1 champion could retire at the end of his current contract with Aston Martin.
Schlager, who is a TV presenter for Austrian television station ServusTV, covering Formula 1, tennis and other sports, said during a broadcast: “He currently has a two-year contract and it will most likely be the last.”
The pair met in 2022 when Schlager was in the paddock and have been dating for the past year. Schlager has been a constant support for Alonso during Grands Prix, and the pair have posted many photos together on their Instagram accounts during the off-season.

Schlager has been impressed with the commitment and dedication that Alonso has applied to his preparation for the 2021 season, saying: “The whole winter consisted of gym, tennis, skiing. It was impressive how he went full throttle.”
Alonso finished third in his debut race with Aston Martin, which proves he can still compete at the highest level.
But with his contract set to expire at the end of 2024, the two-time Formula 1 champion may decide to hang up his helmet for good.
