Stewards Summon Ricciardo and Albon Over Japan Red Flag Incident

The commencement of the race was abruptly halted as a consequence of an incident occurring on the initial lap. Following the red flag during the Japanese Grand Prix’s opening moments, Daniel Ricciardo and Alex Albon have been summoned by Formula 1 stewards for inquiry.

As the race commenced, Ricciardo executed a maneuver towards the right-hand side of the track approaching Turn 3 in an attempt to secure the racing line. However, in doing so, he made contact with Albon’s Williams, resulting in both cars careening into the tyre barriers.

Despite the severity of the collision, both drivers emerged unassisted from their vehicles. Subsequently, a red flag was waved, necessitating a suspension of the race for nearly thirty minutes to facilitate repairs to the damaged tyre barriers.

The stewards have mandated that both Ricciardo and Albon appear before them at 1645 local time for further examination and deliberation on the incident.
