Red Bull’s Marko in Hot Water: Investigated Over Press Leaks, May Miss Australian GP

In a significant turn of events in the controversy involving Red Bull’s team leader, Christian Horner, Helmut Marko might be facing punitive measures following a new inquiry that has been initiated against him.

This development comes just a day after a female staff member, who is at the heart of the accusations levelled against Horner, was put on suspension due to the outcomes of the initial investigation into these matters. Now, Marko finds himself in the crosshairs.

According to information obtained by Motorsport.com, Red Bull is investigating Marko concerning a series of leaks to the press that have occurred since the news broke out about Horner being scrutinized by the Red Bull energy drinks corporation.

The probe into the matter is still underway, with no definitive findings yet on whether Marko has violated any team rules.

Should it be determined that Marko did share sensitive information with the press, he might be subject to disciplinary measures.

In a statement to Austrian broadcaster ORF in Saudi Arabia, Marko acknowledged the possibility of his absence from the upcoming race in Australia, hinting at the serious nature of the investigation.

Addressing speculation with the Austrian broadcaster about a potential suspension from Red Bull and his absence at the Australian Grand Prix, he remarked, “How shall I put it. It is difficult to explain, but in the end I decide what I will do.”

When questioned about the likelihood of facing suspension, he acknowledged,”That theoretical possibility exists.”

On whether his potential absence is a personal decision or one mandated by Red Bull, Marko chose not to specify, stating, “It is such a complex issue. And again, we want peace in the team and we want to see it. This world championship will be difficult enough with 24 races and we have to concentrate on that.”
