Red Bull’s Focus on Rival F1 Team Revealed by Christian Horner.

All eyes have consistently been on Mercedes and Ferrari to rise up to the challenge posed by Red Bull, especially following the remarkable achievement of the Milton-Keynes-based team in clinching both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships in the previous season.

From a lacklustre seventh-place finish in the constructors’ championship last year, Aston Martin underwent a remarkable metamorphosis during the winter period, emerging as the closest contender to Red Bull as the 2023 season kicked off.

Aston Martin has impressively clinched a spot on the podium in four races this season, consistently challenging the formidable Red Bulls.

One of their notable performance is when team driver Fernando Alonso secured a P2 finish in a remarkable performance in the Monaco Grand Prix.

Although Mercedes has made a noteworthy resurgence, surging ahead of Aston Martin in the constructors’ standings after the Spanish Grand Prix, Horner remains steadfast in recognizing Aston Martin as Red Bull’s primary long-term adversary.

In an interview with DAZN, the Red Bull team principal explained: “We have a lot less wind-tunnel time than you guys.”

“So we’re having to be very selective about how we use that time, and also thinking about next year as well – so it’s about finding that balance.

“When you look at all that experience, you can see what Fernando’s brought to Aston Martin – which is still a young team.

“There are lots of new guys there; they took a few guys from us. For us, I think the team that we’re most keeping an eye on for the future is the Aston team – because you can see they have a strong energy.”

After experiencing an unexpected setback at the Spanish Grand Prix, Aston Martin is gearing up to reveal a series of upgrades to their F1 car during the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix.

The anticipation lingers as we wait to witness if Mercedes can maintain their newfound advantage over their competitors, and whether Aston Martin can sustain their remarkable performance in the face of fierce competition. The upcoming races hold the answers to these intriguing questions.
