Despite the swirling speculations regarding the future of three-time world champion Max Verstappen within the Formula One juggernaut, Sergio Perez remains adamant that there is a sense of “harmony” prevailing within Red Bull.
The season’s commencement has seen Red Bull maintaining its formidable form from the previous year, evidenced by Verstappen and Perez clinching impressive one-two finishes in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
However, the team’s achievements on the racetrack have been somewhat eclipsed by the weighty accusations against Red Bull’s team principal, Christian Horner.
Following a Red Bull investigation that absolved him of alleged misconduct toward a team employee, Horner is set to retain his position at the helm.
However, despite this resolution, the narrative continues to capture attention as Red Bull arrives in Melbourne for the upcoming Australian Grand Prix.
“The dynamic, everyone in the team is working really well together, the whole engineering group, it’s really united,” Perez stated.
“You can see that on track and how efficient we’ve been in the last year.
“The team is in a very strong position because with the results we’re currently having, the harmony that there is in the team.”
Emerging reports suggest that Verstappen may contemplate a surprising move to Mercedes, as the renowned Belgian driver possesses an exit clause within his extensive contract with Red Bull.
“I don’t have that clause,” Perez stated. I don’t know what clause Max has in his contract, it’s better if you ask him.”
Perez expressed concern, stating that it would be a significant setback if Verstappen were to depart Red Bull before the conclusion of his contract in 2028.
These rumors have surfaced following the announcement by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, confirming his departure from Mercedes at the end of this season to join Ferrari starting in 2025.
