Max Verstappen is a Dutch racing driver currently competing in Formula One for Red Bull Racing. He was born on September 30, 1997, in Hasselt, Belgium. Verstappen began karting at a young age and quickly progressed through the ranks, winning numerous national and international championships.
In 2014, he made his debut in single-seater racing, competing in the European Formula 3 Championship with Van Amersfoort Racing. He finished third in the championship, earning a place on the Red Bull junior team.
In 2015, Verstappen was promoted to the Scuderia Toro Rosso team, becoming the youngest driver to ever compete in Formula One at the age of 17. He had a successful debut season, scoring points in his first six races and finishing 12th in the drivers’ championship. In 2016, he moved up to the Red Bull Racing team and has since established himself as one of the top drivers in the sport, winning races and consistently finishing on the podium.
Verstappen is known for his aggressive driving style and his ability to perform well under challenging conditions. He has a large and passionate fan base and is considered one of the most exciting drivers in the sport.
The Dutch driver has since gone on to win two world titles, he won the 2021 Formula One world championship and defended it in the succeeding campaign. After a dominant performance which saw him win a record 15 races, the most ever in a single Formula One campaign.
The Dutch prodigy has 35 victories and 20 pole positions as of the 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. At the 2021 French Grand Prix and the 2021 Austrian Grand Prix, he recorded his first career hat trick and a grand slam.
At the 2022 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, he achieved his second grand slam. After agreeing to a contract extension, Verstappen will continue with Red Bull at least through the end of the 2028 racing season.
