Max Verstappen has etched his name in Formula 1 history by shattering several of Sebastian Vettel’s “youngest ever” records, including those for the youngest race winner and podium finisher.
However, there’s one milestone that remains out of Verstappen’s reach – that of the youngest World Champion. While the Dutchman secured his title in 2021 just after turning 24, Vettel achieved this feat at the age of 23.
Nonetheless, Verstappen managed to claim another one of Vettel’s records following his dominant victory at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
With his triumphant performance in Saudi Arabia, Verstappen secured his 56th career win, marking his 100th podium finish in only 187 starts.
This achievement propelled him into an exclusive group of seven World Champions, boasting an impressive collective tally of 25 titles and 407 wins. Remarkably, these champions have collectively dominated 36.89% of all 1,103 World Championship Grands Prix held up to the Saudi Arabian event.
Previously, Vettel held the distinction of being the youngest driver in this elite club to reach 100 podiums, achieving the milestone at the age of 30 years and 8 months with his victory at the 2018 Australian Grand Prix.
