Angela Cullen made a notable appearance in the IndyCar paddock, marking her reentry into the realm of motorsports following her departure from Lewis Hamilton’s close-knit circle.
Formerly Hamilton’s physiotherapist and personal assistant, Cullen held a significant position within the Mercedes driver’s inner sanctum until her unexpected departure a year ago.
However, she has resurfaced in the company of Marcus Armstrong, an IndyCar driver and fellow New Zealander who is gearing up for his inaugural full season in the IndyCar series.
Armstrong, once a prodigy of the Ferrari junior driver program, achieved a commendable third-place finish in the Formula 3 series back in 2019. His successes extend to victories at the Formula 2 level, establishing himself as a formidable force on the racing circuit.
Presently, Armstrong represents Chip Ganassi Racing in IndyCar, with Cullen, spotted alongside him in the team garages, donning headphones as part of the Chip Ganassi crew.
For Cullen, this marks a reentry into motorsports after dedicating seven years to her collaboration with Hamilton. Following their professional parting of ways last year, Hamilton acknowledged Cullen’s newfound pursuit, stating, “Angela is living her life right now.”
“She’s got so many ideas of things she wants to do. We message pretty much every day. We are still going to skydive together. We are always going to be in each other’s lives.
“We’re stuck with each other, unfortunately, or fortunately! We’ve been through thick and thin. I am grateful our relationship is as good as it is. We’ve probably had one of the longest relationships I would say in the sport.
“I am incredibly grateful for her, I love her dearly.”
