Despite being under investigation for allegations of “inappropriate behavior,” Christian Horner is set to attend the unveiling of Red Bull’s 2024 car on Thursday, as the team’s principal.
Horner plans to be present at the unveiling of the Formula One champion at their headquarters in Milton Keynes, despite recent allegations made by a female coworker that emerged early last week.
The 50-year-old, married to ex-Spice Girls star Geri Halliwell, firmly rejects the accusation that he acted inappropriately and exerted undue control.
As part of an investigation initiated by Red Bull Racing’s parent company, Red Bull GmbH, Horner underwent an eight-hour interrogation by a lawyer last Friday. This inquiry is expected to extend over several weeks.
A representative for Red Bull GmbH stated earlier this week, “After being made aware of certain recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation.”
Horner, father to a son with Halliwell since their 2015 marriage, attended a private Red Bull testing session at Silverstone this Tuesday, in preparation for the upcoming season beginning in Bahrain on March 2.
With the new car reveal scheduled for Thursday, Horner is anticipated to speak to the press, though it is presumed that any discussion about the ongoing investigation will be avoided.
Having held a team principal position since Red Bull’s F1 debut 19 years ago, Horner is recognized as the grid’s most enduring boss.
In this time, he has led the team to seven drivers’ world championships and six constructors’ titles, marking a period of dominance in the sport for Red Bull, which won 21 out of 22 races last year.
Max Verstappen notably achieved a record-breaking streak of 10 consecutive wins.
