Hamilton’s Dream Collaboration with Newey for Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton has expressed his desire for Adrian Newey to join Ferrari next year, emphasizing that it would be an esteemed opportunity to collaborate with the renowned Formula One technical genius.

Newey, widely hailed as the foremost technical mastermind of his era in Formula One, is poised to become a free agent following Red Bull’s confirmation of his impending departure from the team.

Hamilton, who himself is making the transition to Ferrari for the upcoming season, was questioned about his thoughts on the prospect of Newey joining the team ahead of the Miami Grand Prix this weekend.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Hamilton stated, “Very much,” further elaborating, “Adrian Newey has got such a great history and track record and he has done an amazing job through his career. With the knowledge he has, he would be an amazing addition.”

Highlighting Ferrari’s recent advancements and their promising trajectory, Hamilton remarked, “They (Ferrari) have got a great team and they are making huge progress and their car is quicker this year, but it would be a privilege to work with him.”

Reflecting on Newey’s esteemed reputation, Hamilton asserted, “If I was to do a list of people I would like to work with then he (Newey) would absolutely be at the top of it.” He concluded by stating, “Any team would be fortunate to have the opportunity to work with him.”

Since 2010, every Formula One world championship has been clinched either by a team Lewis Hamilton has been a part of or by a Red Bull crafted by the genius of Adrian Newey.

The seven-time world champion has expressed his confidence in the Milton Keynes-based team’s ability to maintain its winning streak.

Hamilton emphasized his connection to Newey’s work, stating, “From my perspective, when I joined McLaren, it was an evolution of his car.

“And I think I got there just after he left, so that car would have evolved from the design that he had worked on, so I felt privileged that I had the chance to touch something he had worked on.

“Racing against the team that he has been so heavily a part of over the years has been a massive challenge.

“But we just need to remember that there are a lot of people in the background, there is not one key person, it is a whole team of people who do the job.

“You can imagine of all the amazing experiences that he brings, the people he works with will continue to do an amazing job and continue to build great cars, but any team would be fortunate to have the opportunity to work with him.”
