Look out for a distinctive Ferrari car hitting the streets of Miami this weekend, flaunting a unique twist with blue accents complementing its classic red design.
Ferrari has unveiled a one-off livery set to grace the Miami Grand Prix, marking a significant celebration of the brand’s 70-year presence in the North American market and its fresh title sponsorship agreement with HP.
The eye-catching livery showcases a pair of blue hues, named Azzurro La Plata and Azzurro Dino, adorning the challengers of drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz throughout the race weekend.
Ferrari emphasizes that these shades hold “part of daily life in Maranello for many years and are now coming back into play after an absence of around fifty years”.
The blue tones will prominently feature on various components of the car, including the wings, engine cover, halo, rear-view mirrors, race numbers, and wheel rims.
Notably, the inclusion of blue on-the-wheel rims pays homage to a design element from Ferrari’s 1960s era, reminiscent of the iconic 158 F1 car that propelled John Surtees to championship victory in 1964.
“The upcoming Miami Grand Prix will be one to remember in the history of our team, as in Florida we will be celebrating our heritage through a unique livery, rediscovering two colors that are part of our history,” Vasseur stated.
“It will also be a very special race as we are glad to welcome the arrival of our new title partner HP.”
Having clinched a race victory earlier this year in Australia with Sainz at the helm, Ferrari enters the upcoming round with a sense of accomplishment.
However, the recent event in China posed significant challenges for the team, marking the first race this season where Ferrari fell short of securing a top-three finish.
