Ferrari’s Secret F1 Upgrade Test Revealed

Ferrari plans to utilize its allocated Formula 1 filming sessions to assess its array of upgrades before the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, as per reports from Italian media. Both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will take the wheel for these sessions.

The Italian team’s intention to introduce significant updates has been evident for some time, with a particular focus on a fresh sidepod design drawing inspiration from the Red Bull RB20, as outlined by technical expert Paolo Filisetti.

While private testing with current cars during the season is prohibited, each team is granted two filming days, allowing for a maximum of 200 kilometers per day.

While these days are primarily designated for promotional activities, they often serve as an opportunity to conduct initial shakedowns of the car before pre-season testing.

According to reports from Formu1a.uno, Ferrari is scheduled to conduct these sessions on May 9th and 10th at its Fiorano test track. The objective is to validate the planned upgrade package ahead of the team’s home race at Imola.
