Biography

Max Verstappen, born on 30th September 1997 in Hasselt, Belgium, is a Belgian-Dutch racing driver who competes under the Dutch flag for Red Bull Racing in Formula One. He holds a remarkable record of being the youngest driver to compete in F1 when he made his debut at the age of 17 years and 166 days during the Australian Grand Prix in 2015.

His journey to F1 was influenced significantly by his family's involvement in motorsports. His father, Jos Verstappen, is a former racing driver and was the German Formula Three Champion in 1993. His mother, Sophie Kumpen, was a kart racer who competed against other renowned drivers, including F1 champion Jenson Button. Max has a sister named Victoria and half-siblings from his father's other relationships.

Verstappen's career took a significant turn when he was promoted from Scuderia Toro Rosso to Red Bull Racing in 2016. He won the Spanish Grand Prix on his debut with Red Bull Racing at the age of 18, making him the youngest driver ever and the first Dutch driver to win an F1 Grand Prix.

Notably, Verstappen has been identified as one of the highest-earning drivers on the grid, with an annual salary estimated at around $50-55 million. His net worth is reported to be approximately $200 million. He is currently in a relationship with Kelly Piquet, who is the daughter of three-time F1 World Champion Nelson Piquet.

The Dutch driver has clinched the Formula One World Championship three times in a row, in 2021, 2022 and 2023, marking him as a dominant force in the sport. He is known for his aggressive driving style, which has been compared to that of Ayrton Senna, and prefers a car setup that allows for a touch of oversteer.
