Adrian Newey’s Departure Plans from Red Bull

The aim of the designer is to start working with his next team as soon as possible. On Thursday, April 25th, Adrian Newey pulled the trigger, expressing his desire to leave Red Bull.

The Milton Keynes-based team emphasized through an official statement that the designer has a contract with the Anglo-Austrian team until the end of 2025 and that there is no knowledge of negotiations by Newey with other teams.

According to the PA news agency, a meeting between Adrian Newey and the top management of Red Bull is imminent – at the latest by Monday – to define the details of his departure.

In this meeting, the aerodynamics wizard will try to negotiate a ‘discount’ on the gardening leave he must observe before joining what will be his new team, with Ferrari being in pole position to welcome the British genius, as highlighted by FormulaPassion.it.

The reasons that led Newey to express the desire to leave Red Bull are manifold. On one hand, the prospect of being relegated to the RB17 Hypercar project was not sufficient for Newey, who also did not appreciate Christian Horner’s transgressive behavior towards an employee.

According to The-Race.com, the employee in question served as an assistant to both Horner and Newey, so the exit from Red Bull could mainly be a personal matter of deteriorated relationships between Horner and Newey.
